Platelet-Rich Plasma/Vampire Clinic

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is our bodies own growth factors which are harnessed and used for their regenerative properties. A small amount of blood is drawn and spun in our centrifuge to separate the PRP (sometimes referred to as “liquid gold”) so we can then re-inject it to the body to stimulate tissue healing and growth, increased blood flow, stimulate collagen and promote cell renewal. In aesthetics we can use the liquid gold to decrease hair loss, improve skin texture and tone, reduce fine lines and scarring and improve sexual function. The nature of how PRP works means results accumulate after a few treatments and take several months for full results to be seen.

    Minimal to moderate. Depending on the area treated you may experience redness, swelling and bruising. You may or may not wish to return to work after treatment. Pretreatment instructions must be strictly followed to ensure the PRP works well.

    Aftercare

    Keep the area clean. Avoid touching. Do not wash the area for at least 4 hours (allow the PRP to work its magic!). Minimise heat or sun exposure for 2 weeks. Use gentle skincare for 1 week.

    Common side effects: warmth, redness, swelling, bruising, itching and pain lasting up to several days. Less common side effects may include: infection or allergic reaction
